The 2020 Presidential Elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3. However, it is not official that we will have the elections on November 3, or any day at all. We might have an unfamiliar way of voting this year, due to the Coronavirus, pandemic. Things can happen at the last minute such as cancellations and postponements, but we need to remember how to prevent the spread of the virus.
New York is one of the states considering cancellation of the 2020 Presidential Elections. It is currently the state with the most COVID cases, and it is safer to take precautionary measures. Even a pen could be a source to spread COVID, so we should try to bring our own pens and make sure to wear gloves. Cancellations of the Presidential Election is likely not to happen, and it should not. Social Distancing policies should be maintained, and if everyone follows them, it wouldn’t be too bad.
Some states such as Arizona, Florida, and Illinois are planning to postpone the elections. This idea is reasonable, just to see if things get better. If not postponed, then we can have the elections held for two or three days. It will take more time, but safety of fellow citizens is more important. If we can slow the spread of COVID, it might just come to a stop until we find a vaccine, or we might have more ventilators for serious patients.
Preventing the spread is very simple, but not everyone follows the policies which makes it harder to stop the spread of COVID. If majority people stay home and go out only when necessary, it won’t be much of a problem. This simple instruction seems very hard for some people to follow. Try to find a benefit while staying at home. Staying home has pros and cons, so try to find pros from your perspective-how to make the time beneficial. With cancellations and postponements, we need to remember how to prevent the spread of the virus.
